Carphone Warehouse has announced it will be on board for the launch of the latest addition to Sony’s Xperia family, the Xperia T.
The retailer has added a ‘Coming Soon’ confirming the news, although an ETA as to when it will be in stock is as-yet missing.
Unveiled yesterday in Berlin at Sony’s pre-IFA press gathering, the Xperia T packs an expansive 4.6-inch HD Reality display powered by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a whopping 13-megapixel snapper that shoots in full 1080p HD and to keep things ticking over smoothly, a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.
Elsewhere you’ll find a 720p HD front-facing camera for making video calls, NFC support that’ll allow the handset to double as a digital wallet and 16GB of on board storage.
The handset itself has a similar arched design like the Xperia Arc, which we must admit looks rather neat.
Alas, it runs the slightly dated Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, but Sony assures an upgrade to the latest Jelly Bean edition will be rolled out shortly after launch.
Pricing is still unknown but for those specs we expect it to be around the £450-mark at least. However, contract options should subsidise that outlay considerably.
Stay tuned as we reveal more Sony announcements in the days and weeks to come.
