EE cuts 4G prices, launches new 20GB tariff

EE cuts 4G prices, launches new 20GB tariff

EE has unveiled has launched two 4G new promotional price plans and a cheaper high-usage offering, as it prepares for the launch of rival 4G carriers later this year.

The network’s limited period offers enable customers to pick up the HTC One SV or the Nokia Lumia 820, plus 500MB of data, unlimited calls and texts for £31 per month and a one-off charge of £29.99. That represents a saving of £90 from previous pricing over the course of a two-year contract.

Subscribers also get the option to take their monthly allowances when they go overseas for an additional £5 per month.

For the hungrier mobile internet user, EE has launched a plan with a whopping 20GB monthly data allowance for £76 per month when taken with a new 4G-capable phone or £61 per month as a SIM only plan.

Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer at EE, said: “It’s our aim to offer consumers the most comprehensive range of 4GEE price plans.

“With these new options we’re looking to not only make 4G smartphones even more accessible, but offer even greater value for the small number of super-users out there - ensuring EE really does offer a package that’s tailored for all customers 4G needs.”

The carrier's announcement comes Phones 4u today announced plans to launch a virtual network in March, using EE's infrastructure.
