Sony’s latest flagship smartphone the Xperia Z is now available to pre-order on Three, giving punters a chance to reserve the handset before its long awaited release later this month.
Three is currently ranging the Xperia Z in black and white on two of its most popular monthly tariffs: the Ultimate Internet 500 and the One Plan – both on two-year contracts with an upfront fee of £69 for the handset itself.
In terms of allowances, the former entitles takers to 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and all-you-can-eat data for a monthly outlay of £34. The latter, also offers unlimited data and 5,000 texts, but ups the ante with a more bountiful 2,000 minutes, plus 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes.
If you’re not of mind to pick up a contract, however, Three is also offering the Xperia Z on pay as you go for £449.99, which is well below Sony’s own asking price of £529.99.
Highlights aboard Sony’s first hero kit of the year include an expansive five-inch display with a full HD resolution and the latest Mobile Bravia Engine 2 video processor, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm process and a 13.1-megapixel shooter with an Exmor RS sensor and HDR recording skills.
Another USP is that the Xperia Z is certified water and dust resistance and rocks Dragontail glass front and back to provide ample protection against scratches. It’s also arguably the best looking mobile Sony has produced yet, so that’s something to consider too.
Three expects begin shipping the Xperia Z on Thursday 28th February. So if you’re looking to grab it on day one, it might be advisable to place your order pronto.
