Sony is working on a new, ultra widescreen smartphone designed to take on the recently revealed Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
Dubbed the Xperia X Ultra, Sony’s latest effort is believed to feature a 21:9 screen, measuring a massive 6.45–inches.
Samsung and LG’s latest flagship smartphones come with 18:9 displays, aimed at making it easier to use two apps side–by–side.
The Xperia X Ultra seems to take this idea and run with it. The even wider display should also make Sony’s phone the best of bunch for watching movies and TV shows, too.
Specs–wise, the X Ultra is said to include 4GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 3050 mAh battery and 64GB of storage.
As with all Sony’s top–end phones, it looks set to be both dust and waterproof.
The rear camera is believed to come in at 19 megapixels, while the front–facing cmamera will feature a 13-megapixel sensor.
The Xperia X Ultra is likely to be revealed later this summer, with grey and red colours options.
