OnePlus 6 set to be waterproof

The OnePlus 6 looks set to be waterproof, with the upstart mobile maker suggesting as much in its latest teaser for the forthcoming phone.

In a tweet accompanying a video of falling rain, OnePlus said, “Don’t you just hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains? So do we”

Until now, OnePlus’s phones have lacked waterproofing, functionality which has long made the very best smartphones stand out from the pack.

Adding such tech would mean the OnePlus 6 becomes even more alluring, especially if the Chinese company resists the urge to pump up prices and keeps its entry level model at £449 SIM–free.

Recent teasers from the manufacturer have pointed towards a notch design, new Qualcomm processor and all–screen design.

Some reports have suggested OnePlus might add a 256GB model, with a price north of £700.

The OnePlus 6 is likely to launch later this summer.
