How to choose the best Samsung deal for you

If you're looking for a new Samsung phone contract, there are a few things you should consider. Mainly:

  1. Which Samsung handset is right for you
  2. Which type of contract you'd like

Both of these factors will have a big impact on the experience you get and the price you'll have to pay.

The latest Samsung Galaxy handsets, the S23 range, are the brand's flagship products, with some insanely high-quality technology powering them. However, they're also understandably a lot more expensive than some of Samsung's more budget-friendly options, like its Galaxy A series.

Which Samsung phone should I choose?

Which handset you go for depends on what you want to get out of your phone. If you want access to the best-possible specs, you'll be more satisfied with its latest and greatest products.

But if you just want to get online, make phone calls, scroll social media and take the odd picture when you're out and about, even Samsung's cheapest phones can handle that just fine.

You should also think about the type of contract you get with your Samsung Galaxy. If you rarely use the internet on your phone while you're travelling, you could get away with a slightly cheaper contract with a lower monthly data allowance.

But be careful - if you opt for too low a data cap, you might run the risk of exceeding it and having to pay extra fees each month.

What network providers offer Samsung phone contracts?

All the major phone networks have Samsung phone contracts available. From the biggest networks like Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone to the smaller providers like VOXI and SMARTY, you'll be able to choose a mobile tariff for a Samsung Galaxy phone.

Take a look at all mobile networks that offer phone contracts on Uswitch - you can compare and filter a wide range of offers from almost all of them, so you'll get lots of choice when deciding which contract is best for you.

Different types of Samsung Galaxy phones

The Samsung Galaxy range of smartphones includes the top-of-the-class Galaxy S, mid-range Galaxy A, as well as folding phones Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. The Galaxy Note as discontinued in 2022.

The best-selling Galaxy smartphones are the Galaxy S models, which are also among the most popular Android handsets ever. From the first edition of the Samsung Galaxy S in 2010 to 2023's Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra, Galaxy S mobiles have typically been acclaimed for their ease of use, bright, detailed displays and high-grade cameras.

Meanwhile, consumers on a budget and younger smartphone fans are catered for by the Samsung Galaxy A family.

Galaxy A models offer broadly similar features to more costly Galaxy smartphones. But with smaller, lower-grade screens and cameras and less processing power, enabling Samsung to sell them for a more wallet-friendly price.

Below, we take a look at some of the newest additions to the Galaxy range and give you a brief insight into what they offer.

Samsung Galaxy S23: key features

The standout feature on the Samsung Galaxy S23 is the stunning 6.1-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen, which fills the front of the phone. The display definitely sets it apart from all other smartphones on the market at the moment and is perfect for watching videos and playing games.

The S23’s 10-, 12-, and 50-megapixel cameras give you fantastic results, even in poor lighting conditions. The 10-megapixel front-facing camera has the same technology, making it perfect for taking selfies in the dark.

The S23 also comes with:

  • Ultrafast fingerprint scanner
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 3,900mAh battery
  • Fast wireless charging
  • IP68 water resistance

The S23 Plus has all this amazing tech and more, with a larger 6.6" screen and 4700mAh battery. Furthermore, it has 45W fast wired charging, which its smaller sibling doesn't sport.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: key features

The most high-spec and powerful Samsung phone to date, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra teams a premium angular design with five cameras, a massive 5,000mAh battery and a 100x zoom.

Other key features of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra are:

  • Can survive submersion in up to 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes with an IP68 rating
  • Super-fast charging and wireless charging
  • Extremely bright, vibrant screen
  • Smart S-Pen stylus

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: key features

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the latest flagship version of the company's new venture into foldable phones. It's come a long way since the first version, and is now a very well-designed and useful phone.

The ability to fold up the screen is obviously a unique feature, but it means you can multitask a lot better, and watch videos on a much larger screen than a Galaxy S phone.

Other key features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 are:

  • Smart S Pen for illustrating and note taking on-screen
  • Rear triple camera with 12MP ultrawide, 50MP wide-angle and 10MP telephoto lenses
  • Additional 10MP cover camera and 4MP under-display selfie camera
  • A choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB internal storage
  • IPX8 water resistance, meaning it can be unfolded freely in the rain, but isn't very dust resistant
