The look and design of the Sony Xperia Z5 is in line with the other handsets in the Z5 family, using the same square, industrial style that makes it stand out instantly as a Sony Xperia handset. However, the Z5 is definitely a flagship handset, having been given some major tweaks and updates that make it stand out from its predecessors.
One of these is the new, frosted glass rear cover that gives the phone a stunning matt finish as well as making any scratches it may pick up less noticeable. The graded metal frame matches the crisp white colour, giving it a more streamlined appearance.
The 23-megapixel camera is also a new addition to the handset’s features, and it’s even better than some of the fantastic cameras that Sony have offered on its Xperia Z handsets in the past, offering clear, crisp and professional looking shots.
Although Sony has admitted it has come in a little late with this feature, the Z5 hosts the introduction of a new fingerprint sensor feature, which is located on the power button on the side. This is a much more natural and ergonomic position than many other handsets offering the same feature.
Once again, Sony offers a handset with full waterproofing, and you’ll be able to use the phone in the bath or even by the pool without worrying, as it can withstand immersion in up to one metre of water for up to thirty minutes without any damage.
There’s one flap to cover both the charging and the headphones ports, making it more hassle-free and protected if in water.
Those who like a lot of storage space will not be disappointed by the massive 32GB offered by the Sony Xperia Z5, with the option to add even further space if needed thanks to the MicroSD card slot.
