Whole new web for Orange 20Mb customers
Posted 9th March 2009 at 4:00pm by Alex Buttle
Customers taking part in the trial for Orange's new 20Mb home broadband network can expect to see the difference in their internet experience, according to one expert.
Michael Phillips was speaking in the wake of the news that a group of lucky Orange subscribers will see their connections increased by up to 12Mb, from 8Mb to 20Mb, as the provider tests an upgraded network ahead of a wider roll-out.
The Broadband Choices Product Director says that as well as enjoying high-quality media, the trialists will also see improved communications via the web.
He commented: "Since the launch of BT Broadband's 21 Century Network last year, more and more ISPs have begun to offer faster packages - with speeds of up to 24Mb - using the new technology.
"Those Orange customers who have been upgraded to 20Mb will be able to download music, movies and TV programmes at super-fast speeds, use high-quality video calling and online gaming, and experience the internet in a whole new way."
Orange contract holders taking part in the tests have not been asked to pay an extra fee for the privilege.
