Cash ISAs
Cash ISAs are savings accounts where you do not have to pay any tax on the interest. You can put up to £3,600 this tax year (April 6 2008 – April 5 2009) into a Cash ISA and earn tax-free interest on your money.

Savings accounts
There are three basic types of savings accounts: easy access , term and notice savings accounts. The best savings account for you depends on the type of access you require to your money and how you like to run your account.

Fixed rate accounts
Fixed rate accounts have fixed savings interest rate for a set period of time or the duration of the account.

Regular deposit accounts
Regular deposit accounts require you to make regular deposits to the savings account. These may have a minimum and/or maximum amount you can save each month.

Children's accounts
These are specific savings accounts for children which may have certain savings criteria.

Child Trust Funds
Child Trust Funds (CTF) were started in 2005 for children born after 1 September 2002. These are accounts belonging to the child of which the money cannot be accessed until they turn 18.

Over 50’s accounts
These savings accounts are specifically for people over the age of 50.

This shows the amount of notice needed in order to withdraw money from the account.

This shows options for longer term savings accounts or bonds.
