New business broadband deal from BT
Posted 29th April 2009 at 12:15pm by Oliver Folkard
BT Business has unveiled a new high-speed data network that could help UK firms to save money.
According to the company, businesses could save as much as 65 per cent on the cost of connecting various offices by using its new high-speed Ethernet-based broadband services.
The new technology is based on BT's 21CN platform and is available over the UK's biggest Ethernet footprint, which has more than 600 connection points.
It is this "increased reach" which has enabled BT to bring the price down. Customers can access the services via their IP VPN, internet and new end-to-end Ethernet connections.
The technology has speed options from 2Mb to 1Gb and as the needs of users change they can flex their networks in terms of configuration, speed, scale and size.
Bill Murphy, Managing Director of BT Business, said: "In these difficult times, Ethernet can help firms save thousands over old technology, increase productivity just when it's needed most and put you in a better position for the upturn when it comes."
BT is the world's oldest telecommunications company and BT Business currently has more than one million customers.
