BT Business unveils business broadband kit
Posted 26th May 2009 at 3:49pm by Ewan Taylor-Gibson
BT Business has unveiled a new package designed to help UK companies make the most of their broadband connection.
The group's Online Starter Kit is available for £5 per month to firms that currently subscribe to BT Business Total Broadband Option 3 and includes tools and services used for building a professional website.
According to the company, about 20 per cent of organisations do not currently have a home on the internet despite the additional revenues this can bring.
Jerry Thompson, director of business products and online at BT Business, said: "Every business needs an effective online presence that works well with search engines, but this can sometimes be a daunting step for start-ups."
Mr Thompson added that about a fifth of smaller firms were now using social networking tools to find new clients, which emphasised the importance of a compatible website.
Recent research by the web hosting firm Fasthosts found that two thirds of companies recognise the importance of updating and improving their online presence.
