Subscribers to BT's broadband TV deals are now able to enjoy content from Sony Entertainment Television, it has been announced.

The broadband provider has revealed that the agreement between the pair marks the first time Sony's TV content has been made available in the UK.

Through the deal, Sony Entertainment Television will broadcast top-rated US dramas including Damages, The Shield and The Tudors, while Sony Retro's much-loved range of shows features the likes of Charlie's Angels and Starsky & Hutch.

Discussing the agreement, Marc Watson, Chief Executive of BT Retail's television and online services, said the firm was very pleased with the additions.

He added that their introduction to BT Vision will "deliver yet more fantastic viewing to our customers".

Earlier this year, BT announced the launch of new and improved, energy efficient Vision set-top box.

The new Vision+ system is designed to consume 12 per cent less power when in use.
