Broadband and TV provider BT has turned to football star Michael Owen as it looks to promote its latest bundles.

The Manchester United striker is joining fellow professionals including Shay Given and Gareth Bale in a major new £30 million advertising campaign through TV, radio, press and online.

Starring regular BT advert star Kris Marshall, the advert will see his character Adam head on a journey from his flat to standing in a stadium tunnel beside the football stars.

Matthew Dearden, Marketing Director for BT Retail, said the company was proud to bring its subscribers "the best in UK sports viewing".

He added: "By using footballers such as Michael Owen in this campaign we are tapping into the passion that fans feel for their sport, and showcasing the quality of the BT Vision sport offering."

BT is offering Sky Sports 1 and 2 to its TV subscribers through a range of deals, including one which also offers customers access to ESPN and on-demand content for £6.99 a month.
