Why choose EE broadband?

  • High quality, reliable connection

EE puts in the effort to ensure your broadband is as smooth and trustworthy as possible.

  • Great customer service

EE consistently reports some of the fewest Ofcom broadband complaints out of all UK providers.

  • Data boost for mobile customers

If you're already an EE pay-monthly or 12-month SIM customer, sign up to get a mobile data boost up to 5GB.

About EE broadband

EE is one of the UK's biggest communications providers, offering both home broadband and mobile packages, as well as TV deals. Formed in 2010 by the merger of Orange and T-Mobile and now part of BT Group, it's one of the largest UK mobile network operators, using Openreach's home broadband network.

This means it can offer a great range of home Wi-Fi and mobile broadband packages, backed up by both its own mobile network and the UK's largest broadband network.

EE offers fibre broadband with speeds up to 1.6Gbps to most UK homes. If you can't get full fibre from Openreach just yet, EE's fastest speed available will be 67Mbps - but this is still a decent speed for many households.

You can also add home phone deals and some top TV and sports channels with EE's Apple TV add-ons. With compatible devices, you can enjoy stunning 4K-quality content, live sports through TNT Sports/Discovery Plus.

Benefits of signing up to an EE deal include:

  • Mobile options through EE's 4G and 5G network
  • Special perks for broadband and mobile customers
  • 4K TV offers through Apple TV, including BT Sport
  • UK-based customer service
  • EE Smart Hub

EE broadband speeds

There are many EE broadband options to choose from. Its fixed broadband services are available through Openreach, which is also part of the BT Group.

Openreach's faster, more reliable full fibre network is available to around three-quarters of UK homes, so the majority of customers can now choose between a range of ultrafast EE speeds:

  • If Openreach's full fibre isn't in your area just yet, EE still offers a part-fibre deal with decent speeds of 67Mbps. While it might not have as consistent an experience as fibre connected to your home, it's a type of broadband that's been perfectly reliable for many over the last decade or so.

  • EE mobile broadband

In addition to its home broadband services, EE uses its mobile network to offer 4G and 5G Home Wi-Fi via a wireless router, which is a good alternative to a fixed broadband connection.

It also offers 4G and 5G mini dongles, which weigh under 100g and are perfect for creating a Wi-Fi hotspot that you can connect a device to when you're on the go.

What's included in an EE internet package?

Here's what you get with your broadband package with you sign up for a home internet deal with EE.

    EE Wi-Fi routers

All EE home broadband packages come with a free router. There are two available as standard to new EE customers, depending on which package you choose.

    Smart Hub Plus

For most EE broadband deals, this is the EE Smart Hub Plus router, which is very capable of handling busy households with a lot of casual usage. It's plug and play, so there's no need for an engineer (unless you need to get a phone line installed), and it even fits through your letterbox.

It offers a range of management options to ensure you stay in control of your home broadband. Simply log into the hub on your laptop or mobile device, and you can see who’s currently connected to it and how much data they’re using.

You can even switch off access at certain times for specific devices — ideal if you need to stop the kids from getting distracted at bedtime.

    Smart Hub Pro

The Smart Hub Pro is EE's highest-end Wi-Fi router. It comes standard on its 1.6Gb broadband package, but you'll have to pay an additional monthly fee if you want it with one of EE's lower-tier options.

This new router comes with the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology, which is built for the heaviest internet users. It has lower latency and can handle faster speeds wirelessly than the Hub Plus, which means you can do high-intensity online activities like competitive gaming or online streaming with less reliance on an ethernet cable.

It's also a tri-band router, as opposed to the standard dual-band routers, which lets you connect even more devices at once than ever before.

EE mobile data boost with broadband

If you also use an EE pay-monthly or 12-month SIM mobile plan, you can get an extra 5GB of data every month on your mobile plan if you sign up to EE home broadband or mobile Wi-Fi plan.

You'll keep the boosted data allowance as long as you're either an EE broadband or 4G/5G Home Broadband customer and have an eligible EE mobile or SIM plan.

How to contact EE for broadband support

    • Online: EE's website has a comprehensive online help section that should help solve many common issues and queries, from setting up routers to managing accounts.
