The year’s most-anticipated Android smartphone, aka the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, is available to pre-order now, amid expectations it could supersede the Galaxy S2 to become Sammy’s fastest selling handset ever.
The Galaxy Nexus isn’t due to go on sale officially until November 17th. However, as of today, Phones 4 U has launched a pre-order scheme for early birds to ensure they’re among the first to get their hands on the phone.
To be among them, you’ll need to head to Phones 4 U’s page and submit your details to register your interest. They’ll then be in touch with gen about pricing and availability for the likes of Three and O2 when it becomes available.
If you’re keen on grabbing it on Orange, however, you can pre-order the Galaxy Nexus now. Prices start at £31 per month if you don’t mind paying an upfront free of £59, or £41 per month if you insist on a free phone.
Powered by the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, the Galaxy Nexus debuts a number of features that are new to Google’s operating system - not least the natty, rather novel Face Unlock feature that allows you unlock your handset via face recognition technology.
It’s also home to a revamped multi-tasking system that takes more a cue or two from HP’s webOS, a five megapixel camera and a none-more-Samsung 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display.
