Google has delivered an update to its Gmail for Android app, tweaking its appearance and adding some new features to the email service.
The new-look app uses the same cards as many of the search giant’s other apps, such as Google Now, with a new, cleaner conversation view that’s a lot less fiddly to get to grips with than the previous version.
There are now check marks when you select multiple emails and a notification to let you know when your email isn’t syncing. Always handy when your coverage is spotty and getting missives seems to take an age.
The update is being rolled out to Android devices now, so keep an eye out for this revamped offering. For the moment, iOS users will have to make do with the older Gmail app, with Google giving its own OS some love ahead of Apple’s.
