Google has promised to issue a software fix for its flagship Pixel 2 XL, after users complained about poor quality audio in video recordings.

The bug appears to cause audio to sound tinny and makes background noise distort, rendering one of the Pixel 2 XL’s key features unusable.

While Google says the fix will be available to download, “ the next few weeks”, the glitch is the latest in a growing line of problems plaguing the Pixel 2 XL.

Having defended the muted colours on the device’s screen, Google is now having to deal with complaints of screen burn, where images remain visible on the display after users have navigated away from web pages.

That’s on top of problems with clicking noises audible when users make calls.

In all, it’s been a poor start for the top–end Pixel phone, which is aimed squarely at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 and Apple’s iPhone X.

The smaller Pixel 2 has not suffered from the same issues, however.
