Plusnet news

Plusnet has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer, hiring the current head of BT's Wi-Fi division.

Andy Baker, 41, is to join the Sheffield-based broadband provider - a semi-independent subsidiary of his current employer BT - as current incumbent Jamie Ford heads in the opposite direction.

He is leaving Plusnet - the company he joined in 2010 - to take up a post as Managing Director of IT Services at BT Business.

Mr Ford moves on after leading Plusnet through a period of strong growth and expansion, during which it launched fibre-optic services and won a number of industry awards.

New Plusnet CEO Mr Baker has worked as Chief Executive of BT Wi-Fi for the last two years, having previously worked as Commercial Director for TV and Gaming at the firm.

"Plusnet offers me a hugely exciting task in a very challenging marketplace," he stated.

"The company has been going from strength to strength in recent years and I am looking forward to growing its reputation even further."
