1) Check you’re eligible to switch from iD Mobile
If you’re out of contract with iD Mobile, you’re free to switch network whenever you like and it won’t cost you anything.
In the event that you’re not sure of your contract status, customer support a call on 7777 from your iD Mobile phone. Or you can ring 0333 003 7777 from a landline or any other mobile phone (charges may vary).
Opening hours are 8am-8pm every day of the week.
Don’t want to speak to anyone? You can also find out your contract end date by logging into to your iD Mobile account. Or you can open up the iD Mobile app on your phone and find it there.
And if you’re interested in switching but want a bit more information first, text INFO to 85075.

2) Contact iD Mobile to cancel and get your PAC Code
Next up, you need to get in touch with iD Mobile. To do this, just text PAC to 65075 to get your PAC code. It’s this short, alphanumeric code that will enable you to transfer your existing phone number to the network you want to join. You don't even need to make a phone call.
If you'd prefer to speak to somebody, just ring iD Mobile on one of the numbers in step 1 and tell them you want to leave. While you’re on the phone to them, you also need to ask for your PAC Code.
It’s a legal requirement that networks provide you with a PAC Code within two hours of your request.
The important thing to note, though, is that your PAC Code will expire if it’s not used within 30 days.
If, for whatever reason, you don’t get around to using it in that timeframe you’ll need to contact iD Mobile again to ask for a new one.

3) Find and buy a deal from giffgaff
Right, then. Confirmed you’re out of contract and ready to switch? Good news. Your next job is to choose a deal from giffgaff and sign up for it via Uswitch.
Vodafone will then run some credit checks. After you’re approved, you’ll receive your phone in the post.

4) 4 Contact giffgaff to give them your PAC Code
You can do this via giffgaff’s number transfer form.
-
5) Insert your giffgaff SIM card
Take the phone from its box and insert your giffgaff SIM. giffgaff advises that there will be some loss of service during the transfer process.
To check whether the giffgaff SIM is active and the transfer has been completed, it’s a good idea to turn the phone on and off during the day.

6) Wait for your number to be transferred to giffgaff
Typically, your number transfer will be completed at some point during the next working day. If a weekend gets in the way, it may take a bit longer.
