How to transfer your number from Vodafone to VOXI?

Read more about VOXI
  1. 1) Check you’re eligible to switch from Vodafone

If you’re out of contract, you can switch your contract. To check your contract status, you can either:

Open up the Vodafone app on your phone. Then click on the menu icon on the top right of the screen. Next, click on ‘Upgrade or change plan’ in the second menu that appears.

Now, click on ‘Change plan’ and you’ll see your contract termination date under the heading labelled ‘Agreement length’.

If you don’t have the Vodafone app, you can check your contract end date by logging into your account on the Vodafone site.

Prefer to call? Get in touch with Vodafone's customer support team on 191 on your Vodafone phone. Or on 03333 040 191 from any other phone (standard network charges apply).

Opening hours are 8am-9pm every day.

If you’re keeping your old phone and signing up for a new SIM-only deal with a new network, there’s a chance you may need to get your phone unlocked.

To do this, you’ll need what Vodafone calls a Network Unlock Code (NUC). This is free to obtain and you can get hold of it by filling in a form on Vodafone’s site.

  2. 2) Contact Vodafone to cancel your contract

Now your phone or SIM card is on its way, you need to contact Vodafone to tell them you want to leave. When you tell them, they’ll give you a concrete contract end date.

While you’re on the phone to Vodafone, remember to ask for your PAC Code. It’s a short, alphanumeric code that you’ll use to transfer your phone number to the network that you’re going to join.

Vodafone is legally obliged to supply your PAC Code within two hours of you requesting it. When you’ve got your code, it’s smart to make a note of it. Just in case.

But the most important thing to note is that your PAC Code expires after 30 days. So if you haven’t used it in this timeframe, you’ll have to request a new one from Vodafone.

  3. 3) Find and buy a SIM from VOXI

Right, so you’re sure you’re of contract. The next step is to select a SIM-only deal from VOXI and sign up for it through uSwitch.

VOXI will carry out some credit checks. Once they're out of the way, you’ll receive your SIM card in the post.

  4. 4) Contact VOXI to give them your PAC Code

Not long to go now. Your next task is to ring VOXI to tell them your PAC Code.

Get in touch over the phone on 03333 040 191. The call centre’s opening hours are 8am-9pm every day.

  5. 5) Insert the VOXI SIM card in your phone

Using a pin-key, open up the SIM tray on the side of your phone and insert your Voxi SIM.

Your number won’t be transferred straightaway. But while you’re waiting, you’ll be given a temporary number, so you’ll still be able to use your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred

The time it takes to transfer a number varies from network to network. But unless a weekend gets in the way, your number transfer should be complete the next working day.

Once that’s done, you’re good to go.
