Sky has the most satisfied pay TV customers in the UK, an Ofcom survey reveals.

In a poll conducted by the telecoms regulator, 63 per cent of Sky subscribers said they were satisfied with the TV service. A further 25 per cent said they were neutral and 12 per cent described themselves as unhappy.

In second place was BT, with broadly comparable ratings to Sky including 61 per cent of customers claiming to be satisfied, but a higher percentage of unhappy customers.

That left Virgin Media and TalkTalk in third and fourth place, with satisfaction levels of 60 per cent and 59 per cent respectively.

Claudio Pollack, Ofcom's consumer group director, said: "Ofcom hopes that this research will both incentivise providers to improve all aspects of their customer service and give consumers valuable information about the standards of customer service they can expect."

The research covers the three-month period to September 30th 2012.
