Virgin Media Collections subscribers who sign up for another 12 months can take advantage of the TV provider's free Netflix offer.

At present, all new Virgin Media broadband bundle customers receive a free six-month subscription to the online streaming service, which offers thousands of films and TV shows on-demand.

But the offer is not restricted to first-time users - existing Virgin Media customers can also take advantage when they extend their Collection subscription for another 12 months.

The free Netflix offer applies to all four Virgin Media Collections - Starter, Essential, Premiere and VIP - which include TV, broadband and home phone services.

Customers can access the entry-level Starter Collection - which comes with more than 60 channels and a 500GB TiVo box - for an initial price of £10 per month plus line rental.

This rises to £20 per month plus line rental after the first six months.

Virgin Media TV customers can watch Netflix on their TV set through their connected set-top box - the service is fully integrated with TiVo.

Since TiVo uses its own broadband line, streaming Netflix content to a TV set has no bearing on internet speeds within the house.

Netflix subscribers can register up to six devices to their account, meaning they can also enjoy content on PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and consoles.

This gives users additional flexibility, allowing them to enjoy their favourite films and shows anywhere in the home.

After the six-month introductory period, consumers can choose to carry on receiving Netflix content for £5.99 per month.

Alternatively, they can simply cancel their Netflix contract at any point.
