BT Sport has snapped up another big name. It's signed Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as a pundit.
Scholes will join the channel in a four-year deal. He'll offer his punditry to BT Sport's coverage of the 2014-2015 Barclays Premier League, as well as the UEFA Champions League for 2015-2016, when BT takes the rights.
However, he won't exclusively offer his services to BT. He's also signed a deal with ITV Sport to offer analysis for its Champions League coverage.
Scholes is the latest big signing for BT Sport. It recently added Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to its roster, and ex rugby international Brian O'Driscoll. It also extended its sponsorship deal with Arsenal.
"Paul has proved himself to be a forthright and astute pundit since he hung up his boots," Grant Best, senior channel executive producer of BT Sport, said in a statement.
"His recent opinions have been every bit as tenacious as his tackling on the pitch. It is fantastic that we have been able to sign up a legend like Paul to offer a unique insight, based on a record of consistent success at the highest level of the game."
Rival pundit Gary Lineker from the BBC will be tuning in. "Will be very interesting to watch Paul Scholes on @btsport," he tweeted. "If he's half as good a pundit as he was a player, he'll be a terrific signing."
