Amazon has announced its next tranche of original series. These are: 'The Man in the High Castle', 'Mad Dogs', 'The New Yorker Presents', 'Just Add Magic' and 'The Stinky & Dirty Show'. Quite a variety.
As with Amazon's previous original series, pilots were made for all of the above. Viewers then voted on which they wanted to see made into series.
'The Man in the High Castle' is based on a story by Philip K. Dick and is produced by Ridley Scott. It ponders what would have happened had the Axis powers won World War II.
'Mad Dogs' is an adaptation of a British series that ran on Sky from 2011-2013. It follows a reunion of a group of old school friends, which takes a dark turn when they visit a fifth member of the gang in Mallorca.
'The New Yorker Presents' is a culture series that should bring some of the wit and inquiry of the eponymous august publication.
'Just Add Magic' and 'The Stinky & Dirty Show' are for kids.
Like Netflix, it's also branching out into making films.
The firm announced it will release 12 films a year in cinemas, and offer them up for streaming weeks later.
