game of thrones tower of london

Winter is coming. Well, spring actually. But the global premiere of 'Game of Thrones' series five is also on its way and will take place at the Tower of London on March 18th.

The event marks the first time a Game of Thrones season premiere has been held in Europe.

Stars of the show will stroll the red carpet. And you could be there too, with Sky set to give away 25 tickets in a competition. It will announce more details soon.

"'Game of Thrones' is the must-see show of the year and a massive show for Sky Atlantic so I am delighted we will be hosting the World Premiere for this epic show at the Tower of London," said Zai bennett, director of Sky Atlantic.

"I can't think of a more fitting venue to give what promises to be another unmissable series its big launch."

Series five will start on Sky Atlantic on April 13th at 9pm. That's one day after its US premiere on HBO.

George RR Martin, author of the novels on which the series is based, has said some unexpected characters will be killed off in series five.

The TV show's plot is said to differ from that of the books.
