US channel AMC is coming to the UK thanks to an exclusive deal with BT TV. BT has also snagged the exclusive rights to 'Fear the Walking Dead', the spinoff from the hit show 'The Walking Dead'.
AMC's UK launch will coincide with the premiere of 'Fear the Walking Dead' on these shores.
"We're delighted to be launching AMC for the first time in the UK, enabling our viewers to watch series such as 'Fear the Walking Dead' exclusively from BT," said Delia Bushell, BT TV's managing director.
"We're confident our viewers will enjoy AMC's cinematic approach to storytelling and look forward to offering them an outstanding selection of TV series and films in the months ahead."
AMC is the network behind such hit shows as 'Breaking Bad' and 'Mad Men'. The exclusive will help BT better compete with Sky, which holds the UK rights to a range of big shows like 'Game of Thrones', 'Boardwalk Empire' and 'Silicon Valley'.
BT will also launch Europe's first 4K sports channel, BT Sport Ultra HD, this August, just in time for the start of the new football season. It's signed up footie legend Gary Lineker to present, when he's not on 'Match of the Day' duties.
