EE has unveiled a major update for its EE TV set-top box.

A new My TV section tweaks the guide view based on your favourite TV shows and channels. It also integrates your personal videos and photos, and let you beam this content to the big screen from your mobile or tablet.

You can set up My TV profiles for everyone in the house.

The Fetch feature is also new. It lets you quickly select and watch TV shows on your mobile device. It's designed for when someone else is hogging the TV. It works for both live and recorded content.

Companion Screen turns your mobile into a remote control. It also has a share function, so you can tweet about a show while you watch.

The update also adds more on-demand channels, such as film service MUBI and some international options. Netflix and ITV Player are still conspicuous by their absence though.

In our review, we found EE TV wanting, with not enough channels and too many bugs. Let's hope this update is the first of many to bolster the service.

The update rolls out from tomorrow.
