roku 4 render

This could be our first glimpse of the Roku 4 streaming box.

We say "could be" because there's no way to check if it's official. Though the snap was reportedly spotted on Roku's own website.

AFTV News reportedly used a script that finds images that exist on websites but haven't yet been published. And it threw up the above picture.

If genuine, then Roku is opting for a thinner, wider design than its usual offering. (If you haven't seen its streaming boxes, think of Sky's Now TV Box but in black.)

It has the same colour scheme and headphone jack so you don't have to share what you're watching with everyone else in the house.

There are ask some branded buttons on the remote.

A day earlier, the Roku 4 passed through the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), though we learned little about the device other than it exists. There's a chance Roku will refresh the Roku 3 rather than branding the device Roku 4.

Whatever it's called, it's thought to be capable of 4K streaming, which was lacking from Google's latest Chromecast.

It's expected to launch later today, so we should find out soon.
