apple tv 2015

The new Apple TV has finally gone on sale, seven weeks after being announced.

Apple's streaming box starts at £129 for the 32GB model, with the 64GB version priced £169.

The shipping time is given as three to five business days.

If you want the previous model, it's still available and is now up for grabs for the reduced price of £59.

Apple's new streaming box is the first refresh of the device since 2012 and is the first iteration with support for a dedicated App Store stocked with third-party offerings.

It also has a new remote control equipped with motion control and voice activation thanks to Siri integration.

However, it will face stiff competition. The Now TV Box costs just £15 but offers plenty of third-party streaming services.

Then there's the Roku 4 and Amazon Fire TV, both of which can handle 4K broadcasts.

Apple also has a TV streaming service up its sleeve, but this has been delayed due to rights negotiations with TV companies. It's expected to launch sometime early in 2016.
