This is hardly a surprise, but now it's official. HBO has renewed 'Game of Thrones' for a seventh series, ahead of its sixth which starts on Sunday.
The broadcaster also recommissioned comedies 'Silicon Valley' and 'Veep'. The new series of both shows also start on Sunday.
HBO hasn't revealed how many episodes will make up series seven of 'Game of Thrones'. In a recent interview, the show's executive producers said there would only be about 13 episodes left after series six, suggesting that either series seven and eight would be much shorter than their usual 10-episode runs, or that series seven would be the last and would be mammoth.
However, HBO quickly put out a statement saying that no decision had been made as to how many remaining episodes would be made.
For us Brits, series six starts in the early hours of Monday morning on Sky Atlantic, which will simulcast the episode. Looks like Monday will feel like a long day at work...
