TalkTalk has launched the TalkTalk TV Store, a new streaming service.

It lets you stream, rent, buy and download the latest TV shows and films, and is positioned as a direct rival to Amazon Prime Video and Sky.

The service has no subscription, so you only pay for what you watch. It's available to everyone, not just TalkTalk TV customers. Though TalkTalk TV customers do get an extra bonus – they can start watching on their TV, then carry on on a mobile device.

For existing TalkTalk TV customers, any purchases will be added to their monthly TalkTalk TV bill.

It offers more than 7,000 films and TV shows, including 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', 'Joy', 'Girls' and '11.22.63'.

You can watch on multiple devices too, so on your TV, mobile, laptop and tablet.

Aleks Habdank from TalkTalk TV said in a statement: "The launch of TalkTalk TV Store is an exciting step forward in our mission to offer the best film and TV content at Britain's lowest price. It's all about choice and flexibility – you can opt for anything from 'Star Wars' to 'Game of Thrones', only pay for what you watch, and switch easily between devices.

"It puts you back in control, as you can enjoy all the shows and movies you love on your own terms."

The latest films start at £3.45 to rent, while TV shows are around £1.89 an episode to buy.
