You soon won't be able to subscribe to Sky Sports 1 or 2 on their own via Virgin Media.
Starting next month, the cable company is scrapping the option of adding either channel to a Virgin TV package. Instead, you'll have to sign up to a bundle of channels including Sky Sports 1 and 2.
That means instead of paying £21.50 a month extra for Sky Sports 1 or 2, you'll have to opt for the Sky Sports Collection. This gets you all seven Sky Sports channels, and as of next month, will set you back £31.75 a month.
Though if you sign up to the Big Kahuna Bundle, you can add the Sky Sports Collection for £19 a month for the first 12 months and £30.50 a month after that. The Big Kahuna Bundle gives you up to 200Mbps broadband, 230 digital TV channels and unlimited weekend landline calls. It costs £42 a month for the first year and £55 a month for the last six months, plus line rental of £17.99 a month or £184 for 12 months upfront.
Sky customers aren't immune to the price rise. As of June 1st, they'll be charged up to £2.50 more a month for their sports bundles.
