Sky has released the first extended trailer for its forthcoming sci-fi western series 'Westworld'.

'Westworld' is a reimagining of the 1973 Yul Brunner film of the same name, which was written and directed by 'Jurassic Park' author Michael Crichton. It has some big names on board: it's produced by JJ Abrams (the man responsible for rebooting 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek'), Jonathan Nolan ('The Dark Knight') and Lisa Joy ('Pushing Daisies').

Anthony Hopkins stars as Dr Robert Ford, a man who has created a futuristic theme park where guests can live without limits. As is the way with these dystopian thrillers, things don't go according to plan.

In the film (and the 'Itchy & Scratchy Land' episode of 'The Simpsons', which parodied it), the robots that populate the park go berserk and turn on their human visitors. We're guessing something similar happens in the TV show.

The series also stars Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden. It will air exclusively on Sky Atlantic in the UK in October.
