Apple announced recently it would improve the viewing experience on Apple TV, and now it's making good on its word. It's just released iOS 10.2 and tvOS 10.1, both of which include the firm's TV app. Which makes Siri a lot more useful.
For starters, you can ask it to carry on watching a show on any device, and it'll make it happen. It can also tune you into live news and sports, show you a glimpse of what's live right now, and offer recommendations of what to watch, all when you ask.
The TV app also makes for a more unified video streaming experience. You don't have to jump in and out of apps to watch shows – instead, you can pick up where you left off or see recommendations all from within the TV app.
Most services are supported, with the exception of Netflix. But hopefully it'll come on board soon.
The iOS update also brings other tweaks, like improved music controls, bug fixes, new emoji and a better frame rate for Live Photos.
Sadly, the tvOS update is US-only for now, as is the TV app. Fingers crossed Apple brings it to the UK soon.
