Live action comes from the second division of Germany's Bundesliga, as Nurnberg take on Kaiserslautern. Nurnberg finished third in the league last year, so will be keen to better that this season. Kaiserslautern may have finished 10th last year, but it has won the German championship four times, so can't be written off.

Everton vs Liverpool

8pm, Sky Sports 1

If you prefer your footie a little closer to home, tune into Sky Sports 1 from 8pm. It's a Merseyside derby, with Everton hosting Liverpool. There's no love lost between these two sides, with passions likely to flare across the city.

Alan Carr's 12 Stars of Christmas

Carr might be more restrained in his new pre-watershed 'Alan Carr's Happy Hour', but this later show gives him a chance to let his hair down. And get his drink on, if previous series if 'Chatty Man' are anything to go by. This game show sees three famous faces compete to win hundreds of presents for the studio audience, with each choosing doors from a giant advent calendar. It's basically 'Celebrity Square' goes festive, with Miranda Hart, Will.i.am, Matt Lucas, Roger Moore, Little Mix and William Shatner along for the ride.
