Sky Sports Mix – Sky's sports channel that's free to all Sky customers – is growing its list of extreme sports. Its latest addition? Tough Mudder, the renowned obstacle race that sees contestants scale walls and swim through tunnels.
On 26th January, Sky Sports Mix will show the 2016 World's Toughest Mudder, an extreme 24-hour endurance race. A couple of days before that will be a special pre-show to introduce the race and contestants to UK viewers.
Sky will also show two more Tough Mudder series this year. One will focus on three 'everyday' Tough Mudder heroes, and the other will feature five current and former British Olympians as they compete in Tough Mudder events.
"Sky Sports Mix has brought a whole new set of sporting events into every Sky home for the first time, and Tough Mudder is another exciting addition," said Georgina Faulkner, Sky Sports head of multisport. "Our viewers will already be familiar with these popular events and we will bring the excitement, competition and sheer physical effort to an even wider audience."
Sky Sports Mix's other extreme sports include drone racing, surfing, snowboarding, cliff diving and mountain biking. In all, it has broadcast 33 different sports since launching in August.
