Netflix has commissioned yet another original series, this one based on the classic videogame 'Castlevania'.

While details of the plot remain a closely-guarded secret, it does have some serious talent at work on it. Proucer Adi Shankar ('Dredd', 'The Grey') is on board, as are writer Warren Ellis (from the graphic novel 'Red') and Kevin Kolde from 'Adventure Time'.

So what can we expect from yet another vampire show? Shankar has hinted in the past that his take on the genre would be "dark" and "satirical" and would "flip the vampire sub-genre on its head." All of which sounds promising.

He's also claimed that the series will be the "western world's first good video game adaptation." Which would be quite some achievement – after all, we still haven't forgotten the 'Super Mario Brothers' film.
