Netflix has a new film in the works starring Will Smith. Called 'Bright', it features Smith as a cop in a world where humans live alongside fantasy creatures, sort of like a more sci-fi live-action take on 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'

The first trailer aired during Sunday night's Oscars. You can see it on the film's official Twitter account.

The film sees Smith reunite with David Ayer, who directed him in 'Suicide Squad'. In 'Bright', Smith has to partner with an orc played by Joel Edgerton to track down a superweapon with awesome destructive power.

'Bright' is reportedly planned as a franchise, so if it's well received, we could see a lot more of Will Smith on Netflix. And not just in one of his earlier roles.

Netflix has shelled out $90 million for the film, though that's small beer next to the $100 million it paid for Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'. Seems like the service is on a spending spree of late.
