And the award for who can nab Oscar-winning film 'Moonlight' as a streaming exclusive goes to... Netflix! Cue seven minutes of long-winded acceptance speeches before it's revealed that Amazon actually secured the exclusive rights.

That's right, the winner of Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from May 21st. Come on now Netflix, get off the stage.

It's part of a deal between Amazon and film distributor A24. Since 2013, A24 films like 'Spring Breakers' and 'Ex Machine' have been available on Amazon the same day they were released on DVD and Blu-ray.

Further A24 films coming to Amazon include 'A Ghost Story' (starring Oscar winner Casey Affleck), 'American Honey' and '20th Century Women'.

Along with its recent Oscar success, these will be real boons to Amazon's streaming service. Though seeing as Netflix also won an Oscar, and is closing in on 100 million customers around the world, we doubt it's too worried.
