Sky has dropped the first trailer for 'Jamestown', its new original drama.

Set in Virginia in 1619, it tells the story of Jamestown, the first British colony. For 12 years it has been populated only by men, so things are shaken up somewhat when the first women arrive.

Sophie Rundle, Niamh Walsh and Naomi Battrick star as the women, while Max Beesley, Dean Lennox Kelly, Stuart Martin and Matt Stokoe also feature.

The new arrivals become ensnared in love triangles, bitter rivalries and fierce competitions, but they are bound together by their will to survive in this breathtaking wilderness.

It certainly looks lushly produced.

It's made by Carnival Films, which is the production company behind 'Downton Abbey', and written by Bill Gallagher ('Lark Rise to Candleford', 'The Paradise').

Look out for it on Sky 1 on Friday 5th May at 9pm.
