Sky Q is getting some more recording powers. Thanks to the latest software update, viewers can record six channels at the same time, while recording a seventh.
The feature is exclusive to the 2TB Sky Q box, which was known as Sky Q Silver at launch. It takes advantage of the box's 12 tuners.
Previously, the box could record five channels at the same time while viewers watched a sixth.
To enable the feature, head to Settings > Setup > Preferences > Maximum number of recordings. Adjust this to six, and you're away.
However, it comes with a couple of compromises. Enabling the feature will mean you lose the split-screen feature for Sky Sports, so you can't watch two football matches at once. It also means losing the live preview in the TV guide, so you can't see what's on another channel without going to said channel.
Now, you just have to decide which six things to record...
The Virgin TV V6 box also lets you record six shows at once while you watch a seventh.
