We now have more details of the next software update for the Apple TV.
Until now, Apple had only announced that it would bring Amazon Prime Video to its streaming box.
Now we know there's a new feature called On-Demand Resources, which lets developers make apps that are smaller to download initially, saving the user space on the Apple TV.
Instead of downloading the entire app all at once, it will only download the parts you need to run the basic functions. Other necessary sections will be downloaded as and when the user requires them – so if you never use a feature, you'll never download the relevant section of the app.
This should mean apps download faster, launch quicker and use less space on the Apple TV.
Apple is also adding support for right-to-left languages. Developers will also have more options when designing buttons and blurring the entire screen, and have more freedom to work within a specific theme if one hasn't been decided upon by the viewer.
