The makers of 'Game of Thrones' will shoot multiple endings for the final series, in order to stop anyone finding out how it ends.

According to Casey Bloys, HBO's head of programming, not even the actors will know how it ends.

"I know in 'Game of Thrones', the ending, they're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens," he told an audience at Bethlehem's Moravian College in the US.

"So they're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end.

"Finales are tough," he added.

Perhaps none more so than for 'Game of Thrones'. The show is one of the most popular ever, and has been downloaded illegally millions of times. Various elements of series seven also leaked, including a script, and an entire episode after the programme's maker HBO was hacked.

No doubt anticipation will be high around the final series.
