Massive news for zombie fans – a crossover of post-apocalyptic thriller 'The Walking Dead' and its spinoff 'Fear the Walking Dead' is on its way.
The show's bosses had previously ruled out a crossover, while the stars dismissed the idea. But Robert Kirkman, creator of the show's source comic, confirmed it's in the pipeline.
"There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name," Kirkman said at the recent New York Comic-Con trade show. "This is a huge event in the world of 'The Walking Dead'."
He confirmed it will happen next year, but didn't give any more details on which characters will make an appearance.
The Twitter accounts of both shows also featured an image confirming the crossover is on the way, along with the message "This is real. #crossover #FearTWD #TWD"
So that's pretty clear.
Series eight of 'The Walking Dead' starts in the US on 22nd October.
Kirkman also confirmed that the original show's main character Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) will die at some point. Though he wouldn't say when. "It could happen any time between now and 50 years from now," he said. So don't hold your breath.
