Amazon Prime Video's new show 'Lore' is available to watch now. And it's a fright fest that's perfect for Halloween.
It's essentially Amazon's spin on the true-crime genre, based on Aaron Mahnke's popular podcast of the same name. It explores the kind of campfire folk tales that have been putting the willies up campers for years. Subjects include vampires, werewolves, seances and possessed dolls.
The six 30-minute episodes are made by the producers behind 'The Walking Dead'. They've adapted the six best podcast episodes into films that include narration, interviews, animation and dramatic re-enactment.
The first episode is 'They Made a Tonic', about a regional panic in 1800s Rhode Island that led to people digging up graves. 'Echoes' explores the grisly history of the lobotomy, while 'Black Stockings' sees a resident of 19th-century Ireland believing his wife has been replaced by a fairy known as a changeling.
Other episodes include the dead coming back to life and a hunt for a werewolf in a German town.
In other words, everything you need for some Halloween chills.
The cast includes Robert Patrick ('Terminator 2'), Campbell Scott ('House of Cards') and Adam Goldberg ('Friends').
