amazon fire tv with remote september 2017

You can now browse the web on your Amazon Fire TV streaming box. Amazon has ported the Silk browser to the device. Silk is currently used on the company's range of Fire tablets.

The browser is also now available on the Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Edition TVs.

To start using it, just download it from the app store on your supported device.

However, it doesn't work on all Fire TVs. The most recent one doesn't yet support it, for example. Though an update next month will right that wrong.

As well as letting you browse the web so you can read the news, manage your email inbox and check social media, the browser allows for video playback. So it could be a decent way to watch TV shows and films available on platforms other than Amazon Prime Video.
