LG's new TVs for this year will come packing Google Assistant. The voice-activated personal assistant lets you change the channel and volume, and even control other smart devices like lightbulbs and washing machines, all just by speaking.
The ThinQ TVs will also come with LG's own artificial intelligence-powered personal assistant, called ThinQ AI.
ThinQ AI will handle the TV-specific tasks, like "search for the soundtrack of this movie" or "turn off the TV when this programme has finished". Then Google Assistant will give you expanded abilities, like searching the web, setting timers, controlling smart appliances and everything else it can do.
The ThinQ TVs will work as a central smart hub for your smart home, too.
Google Assistant will only launch on ThinQ TVs in certain countries. LG is yet to specify which, but we're sure to find out later this week at the CES conference in Las Vegas. Let's hope the UK is among them.
