now tv smart stick

Now TV has launched what it claims is the UK's cheapest streaming stick. The Now TV Smart Stick costs just £14.99, and brings the full Now TV experience to your TV.

Because it's a streaming stick, it's a lot smaller than the Now TV Smart Box. It plugs into your TV's HDMI socket and sits around the back, out of sight.

It comes with voice-activated search that you use through the bundled remote control.

The device is made by Roku. But rather than rebadging one of its existing streaming devices, it's created an entirely new one for Now TV. The Smart Stick has been skinned to run Now TV's own custom user interface instead of Roku's Channel Store.

Sky has also announced some improvements for Now TV. Coming this spring, you'll be able to download shows to your smartphone or tablet using the Now TV app. By the end of the year, you'll be able to stream live and on-demand shows in full HD. And there's also a new Now TV broadband package, starting at £18 a month.

The Now TV Smart Stick goes on sale next month. As well as selling standalone for £14.99, it's available for £19.99 bundled with a two-month Now TV Entertainment Pass, or one-month Sky Cinema Pass. With a one-month Sky Sports Pass, it'll set you back £29.99.
