Apple has signed another major talent to its original TV content stable: M. Night Shyamalan.
'The Sixth Sense' director will executive produce a new psychological thriller series. He will also direct the first episode.
It will be written by Tony Basgallop, who's also penned '24: Live Another Day' and '24: Legacy'.
Each episode of the 10-episode series will last half an hour.
It's not Shyamalan's first foray into TV. He previously worked on the series 'Wayward Pines'. His other work includes 'Unbreakable', 'After Earth' and 'Split'.
Apple has signed a number of big names recently, including Steven Spielberg (who will helm a new series of 'Amazing Stories'. Also in the pipeline is a space drama from the creator of 'Battlestar Galactica', a morning news drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and a series from 'La La Land' director Damien Chazelle.
But the question remains: Can it beat Netflix at its own game?
