Apple has signed two new films for its rumoured video streaming service.
The Elephant Queen is a documentary about an elephant matriarch who leads her herd to a new home. During the journey to a new watering hole to escape the drought, the matriarch Athena will have to risk her youngest calves.
It’s directed by Victoria Stone and Mark Deeble and narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who starred in 12 Years a Slave.
Wolfwalkers is an animation set in Ireland. It follows a young woman and her father as they arrive in Ireland to hunt down the last pack of wolves in the country. But after saving a native girl, they change their approach and attempt to save the wolves.
Apple has so far housed its original video content on Apple Music, but that seems an odd choice given the non-music nature of a lot of it. Instead, it will launch its own video streaming service to rival Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The service – which Apple hasn’t officially confirmed yet – is rumoured to launch around March of next year.
